Avatar 500 is a writing contest community centered about the Avatar: The Last Air-Bender universe. It offers bi-weekly prompts/awards and accepts all interpretations of themes and all ratings, genres, and characters/pairings. (A warning should be given if the material is adult-oriented.) Neither flaming nor plagiarism will be tolerated!

1. Members
To join Avatar 500 you must be a fan of Avatar: The Last Air-Bender.
You do not need to participate.
2. Prompts
A prompt is issued bi-weekly. It starts Saturday @ 10pm (MST) and ends Saturday @ 10pm (MST). The vote starts immediately after the prompt ends and runs until Wednesday @ 10pm (MST).
A prompt with fewer than 3 entries will be skipped and its entries can be resubmitted. A prompt with 3 entries will be awarded only a 'Winning' Place. A prompt with more than 3 entries will be awarded 1st, 2nd and 3rd Places.
3. Entries
A member is restricted to one entry per prompt. They are not moderated and should be f-locked if adult-oriented. They can be cross-posted to any other location.
The word count min/max limits are: 100 min to 500 max. It must be posted at the comm (behind a cut) and rated. AUs, ARs and/or crossovers are accepted if predominantly Avatar. Any interpretation of the prompt is accepted.
When posting your entry follow this format:

4. Voting
The vote starts immediately after the prompt is ended and runs until the following Wednesday @ 10pm (MST).
You cannot self-vote!
Your votes are given weights depending on the type of award:
a) for "Winning" Place: each vote is given 1 point
b) for 1st, 2nd and 3rd Places: 1st place choice is given 5 points, 2nd place choice is given 3 points and 3rd place choice is given 1 point.
